iLEAD Campus Positions

International Affairs
  • International Student Orientation Leaders* serve as MICA ambassadors who welcome new international students to campus and to Baltimore!
  • International Affairs Resource Assistants* work with International Affairs to provide cultural, academic, and practical resources to international students.

Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development
  • Peer Career Advisors (PCAs)* are undergraduate and graduate students who provide pivotal services for the Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development. The position involves program planning, resource development, conducting 1-1 appointments with students, and attendance at some major events. ​

MICA Fitness
  • Fitness Assistants* are responsible for monitoring the front desk, interfacing with and assisting members, and daily maintenance of the fitness facility. This position reports directly to the Fitness Center Manager and Coordinators.
  • Fitness Center Coordinators* are part-time paraprofessional staff member in the MICA Fitness. This position is responsible for assisting with day-to-day management including event planning, public relations and administrative duties.

Office of Diversity & Intercultural Development
  • Diversity and Intercultural Development (D.I.D.) Student Programming Committee Members* plan and coordinate programs that serve the cultural needs of MICA’s diverse student body, as well as provide guidance and assistance for programs sponsored by the Office.
  • Student Mentors for the Mentoring Network are committed students who work with new students to serve as a big sister/big brothers and help their mentees achieve academic and personal success.

Student Affairs
  • Foundation Workshop Leaders* assist in presenting workshops that take place in class to help support students in their personal and academic endeavors
  • Wellness Center Student Coordinator* is responsible for the development of Health Promotion initiatives and will serve as the student voice on the Campus Wellness Team.

Residence Life & Off Campus Housing
  • Desk Assistants (DAs)* work at the front desks of the Commons, Meyerhoff House, and Gateway to provide security and assistance to the residential community. Mail coordinator (MC) and residential Studio Manager (SM) positions are available for students who have been hired as a desk assistant. 
  • Residential Advisors (RAs)* are live-in peer mentors and community builders in our on-campus residential housing. From hosting fun programs to educating residents the RA position is one of leadership and integrity. *Given the unique nature of the position, students who are interested in applying to be an RA must attend a mandatory Resident Assistant info session.

Open Studies 
  • Pre-College Desk Assistants (DAs)* serve as monitors for MICA’s Pre-College Program, a month-long summer residential program for high school art students.
  • Pre-College Teacher's Assistant/Resident Counselor (TARCs)* serve as teaching assistants and residence counselors for MICA’s Pre-College Program, a month-long summer residential program for high school art students.

Student Activities 
  • Catalyst Leadership Retreat Participant*: applying to participate in the Catalyst Retreat requires 2 days and one night over spring break (3/14-3/15) where participants will work collaboratively to identify issues on campus, brainstorm solutions, and design action plans for change in their communities.
  • The CREW is a group of student volunteers who assist with the programming efforts of the Student Activities Office and Residence Life Office.
  • Community Site Leaders (CSLs) plan, organize and facilitate art classes in non-profit organizations throughout Baltimore City including schools, neighborhood art centers, and rehabilitation/transitional housing facilities. 
  • France-Merrick Fellows (FMFs) are veteran CSLs with at least two semesters of service. FMFs apply for a year-long fellowship to work with a specific population or community partner. FMFs also plan days of service and mentor CSLs.
  • Orientation Leaders (OLs)* facilitate Orientation for freshmen and transfer students in fall and spring.
  • Program Managers (PMs)* serve as Student Activities student staff, implementing and planning programs for the student body and campus community.
  • Student Organization/Club Leaders have a well-developed vision and plan for bringing a cohesive group of students together.  
  • Student Space Gallery Jury Members collaborate with the Jury team to select student exhibitions for the Student Space Galleries on campus.
  • Student Space Gallery Manager will provide overall supervision to the four student galleries on MICA's campus by managing the operations of gallery spaces, communicating with and supporting artists exhibiting in galleries, as well as provide outward facing general information/marketing regarding current and upcoming exhibitions.
  • Student Orientation Director will be responsible for recruiting, training, and manage the Orientation Leader team in addition to planning several programs within the broader Student Orientation experience.
  • Student Voice Association (SVA) Officers  facilitate the MICA student government and advisory board. The councils meet monthly to discuss issues that affect the MICA community and serve as a liaison between the students and administration.
  • ​Transfer & Commuter Mentors (TCMs)* facilitate Orientation for transfer students in fall and spring as well as serve as a resource for transfer and commuter students throughout the year.
